MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is ordered by your physician to evaluate internal body structures without having to use X-ray or surgery. MRI uses the physical properties of magnetic fields, radio waves, and computers to generate images of soft tissues within the body. MRI is a non-invasive procedure and there are no known side or after effects. Patients are asked to lie on a table and remain still for approximately 30 minutes to one hour depending on th test ordered. During the examination, a faint knocking sound will be heard, which is normal and is the operation of the imaging process. The images are formed from signals emitted by tissue in the body. The MRI process captures different tissue characteristics and translates them into different contrast levels on the image.
The G 1.5T Signa Scanner (left) is a high-performance, clinically proven scanner that ensures a confident diagnosis for every patient.
MRA - Brain/neck, Circle of Willis, Carotids, Vertebrais, Intra/extracranial vessels, renal arteries, MRV
A CT (Computed Tomography) Scanner is a special X-ray machine which produces an image of a cross-section, or slice of the body. Although the equipment looks large and intimidating, it is very sophisticated and comfortable. The GE Lightspeed 64-slice Scanner (lower right) delivers high-speed and high-resolution imaging, which allows physicians to cature precise images on any of the body, including the rapidly moving heart.
General CT Services: Abdomen, Pelvis, Head, Sinus, IACs, Orbits, Neck soft tissue, Chest, Stone Protocol, C-Spine, L-spine, T-spine, all Extremeties.
Coronary CT Services: Patients who have unexplained chest pain or have high risk of developing Coronary Artery Disease
Vascular CT Services: Patients who have unexplained pain and need to rule out a diagnosis of aortic dissection, pulmonary embolism, or other blood flow restrictions
Screening CT Services: Calcium Scoring, Virtual Colonography, Lung Screening
Calcium Scoring: $115
Coronary CT Angiogram:
Virtual Colonography: $695
Lung Screening: $295, Patients who are smokers, former smokers, family history of lung cancer, exposure to hazardous material such as asbestos at work or home, ages 40 and above

Coronary CT Services: Patients who have unexplained chest pain or have high risk of developing Coronary Artery Disease
- Incredible new non-invasive procedure that provides detailed visualization of the heart's arteries.
- Creates 3-D images of the heart similar to those provided by invasive heart catheterization.
- Creates precise images of how the blood is flowing through the arteries and can identify where there are restrictions
- Provides high-resolution images of coronary artery bypass grafts, coronary and peripheral vessels, and coronary anatomy.
- It is not affected by the presence of stents pacemakers, or mechanical valves
- It allows for an assessment of the extent of vascular calcification and ventricular function

- Visualizes soft and hard plaque
Vascular CT Services: Patients who have unexplained pain and need to rule out a diagnosis of aortic dissection, pulmonary embolism, or other blood flow restrictions
- Huge advances in CT technology allows faster patient exams, thus allowing a faster diagnosis
- The CT scanner can capture 5 heartbeats in 4 to 20 seconds, and a single organ in 1 second
Screening CT Services: Calcium Scoring, Virtual Colonography, Lung Screening
Calcium Scoring: $115
- Heart scan that measures calcium deposits which are markers of plaque formation in the coronary arteries
- It measures hard plaque
- It does not measure the degree of narrowing of the arteries or soft plaque
Coronary CT Angiogram:
Virtual Colonography: $695
- Non-invasive CT scan of the colon to identify any abnormalities including perforations, polyps, or tumors
- Requires patient preparation
Lung Screening: $295, Patients who are smokers, former smokers, family history of lung cancer, exposure to hazardous material such as asbestos at work or home, ages 40 and above
- Low dose scan allows physicians to detect cancer and other serious diseases long before symptoms start to appear
- It is six times more effective in detecting early lung cancer than standard x-ray
